Wool naps are produced in a wholly mechanical procedure. The wool fibres are being rolled into small pellets. This is how they gain a large volume and can be used for cushions as well as for soft puppets and stuffed animals. In this form, the fibres don't mat and the wool can be washed at 30° once you turned your washing machine to the “wool“ programme (Do not put the products in the dryer though).
